What a term looks like

Music that moves you. Literally. Ten feet from an unamplified opera voice, the air, the floor and your own chest move with it — no speaker and no recording reproduce that. Seeing is not believing here. Feeling is. For most of your students it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and most adults never get it at all.

A full standards crosswalk — codes at the grade-2, grade-5 and grade-8 anchors, plus the seven Gold Standard PBL criteria — is available for your accreditation self-study.

Not a one-off. A holistic, spiral design: one opera per year over a six-year cycle, skills returning at greater depth. You can join in any year.

Who works with you

Opera Kids was written by three working opera professionals, not by a publisher. Amanecer Sierra, who directs the project, and Ariadna Martínez, who wrote the books and the musical adaptations, teach in the classroom workshops themselves. Aquiles Machado directs what happens on stage and works with your teachers. The three of them train the teaching artists who run the workshops in your classrooms, so the method is delivered to our own standard, in every school.
